Still loving and listening to this song. It makes me very nostalgic for those days, and a little melancholy. Love those horns. I never would have even known about it or the New Colony Six if my friends hadn’t brought the record back home to Omaha after being in Chicago, soooo long ago.

The horn section is always trying to convince and pander to everyone about how important they are. Shut up and play. Champlin and Scheff are clearly irritated with the ones who do all the yapping and do the absolute least on stage during this era. Rant over have a fine day.

I’m really glad you have placed these pieces out there. I’ve also found the piece about the Beatles Chicago visits. But I haven’t located the one about Ludwig Drums. Do you have that? I won’t tell. I am the writer and producer of these pieces. I’d love to have all three. I searched years ago for the edit master, tape 94-1 DAVIES (still in use in ‘95); never could track it down.

@DavidFell You're in luck because I posted that piece along with others about the same time. I'd vhs recorded a lot of programming back in 1995 when The Beatles Anthology was being promoted. I digitized everything I had but could only post the clips that weren't copyright protected. Luckily the news stations didn't care about vintage footage, lol. Here's the link to the Ludwig drum piece... I hope this is what you are looking for. (Maybe I should've changed the title?)
